Once done, forever shall it exist

A note on the passing of Theresa Duncan and Jeremy Blake.

 On July 10 2007 Theresa Duncan (filmmaker, writer, blogger) took her own life using a concoction of pills and alcohol. Bourbon to be precise. Her body was discovered by her boyfriend of some 13 years, artist Jeremy Blake. One week later, Blake took the train to Rockaway Beach, discarded his clothes and walked into the sea, to return some days later as a corpse.

This is a tragic yet romantic story of the pressures artists place upon themselves to create something of beauty and meaning in this world.
